Matt has been a part of the Aubitt team for a number of years, beginning his career as understudy to the prominent prog engineer, Rob Aubrey. Discovering a passion for music through the drums at an early age, Matt eventually went onto obtain a degree in sound engineering before working at a number of local studios, eventually finding his feet at Aubitt.

“The best part of this job is being creative. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the energy music is capable of creating and the ability it has to make people feel. I love working with artists from all walks of life, there is nothing better than exploring someones vision and helping them realise it.”

In 2023 Matt began working at The Ranch Production House. The infamous studio in the heart of the Hampshire countryside has quickly become Matt’s home.

Working on projects spanning from Hip-Hop to Folk, to Metal. Today, Matt is establishing himself as one of the most promising, up and coming producers in the area. Pulling inspiration from his vast knowledge of genre and applying this knowledge to his productions. The result is complete, creative freedom.

In 2019, Matt was introduced to UK top 40 prog icons Big Big Train, going on to work with the band at Real World Studios and travelling as part of their crew during their 2020 UK tour. Matt now works as drum tech to Nick D’Virgillio on all Big Big Train shows. Other notable experience includes the BBC and working beside producer Chris Thomas (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elton John.)
